Artist Bio
Tiancheng Qiu is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores themes of dissociation, simulation, and hyperreality through the use of emerging technologies such as Light, 3D modeling, and holography. Originally trained in traditional painting, his work has transitioned into conceptual and installation-based formats, critically engaging with the philosophical ideas of Jean Baudrillard and Rosalind Krauss.

His recent projects investigate the symbolic and perceptual implications of grids—both as visual structures and metaphors for digital constraint—culminating in his final degree portfolio which featured holographic laser photography and large-scale immersive works. Tiancheng has curated and exhibited in several group shows, including Relics and Ichor (2024) and Entanglement (2023), alongside hosting open studios that emphasized spatial dialogue between artwork, viewer, and environment.

His current artistic inquiry revolves around constructing simulated environments that challenge conventional perceptions of reality, inviting audiences into reflective, disorienting experiences that question the boundary between the physical and the virtual.
